New Song...

January 10, 2008
"Lost" is one of a series of songs I'm writing which delve into the thoughts and feelings I experienced during or after the better part of a year I spent seriously ill. Not surprisingly, you can expect these songs to be a bit sombre...
Happy 2008!

January 3, 2008
Here's my first song of 2008. I could barely eat or drink anything last Christmas so I made up for that this holiday. Feeling woozy now though...
Merry Christmas!

My two year-old daughter is soooooooo excited...
Entry 18: Electrikkk
-
December 20, 2007
Forgiving the jibberish lyrics and highly noticeable drumming screwups, I had oodles of fun recording "Tried".
Song 17: You Decide
-
December 12, 2007
I had quite a bit of fun making this demo. I played around with my gear, made some new discoveries, and finished demoing this brand new song in the process. Enjoy :)
Song 16: A Brand New One!
-
December 6, 2007
Here's a rough demo of "When I See You", a new song I've been working on. This recording marks the first time I've used a Shure SM7B for vocals. Michael Jackson sang through one on the "Thriller" album, and Neil Finn used one on the new Crowded House...
Entry 15: And Now For Something Completely Different...

November 29, 2007
I played all the parts on this power-pop demo (as if the hilariously mis-timed drum fills and lack of guitar solo wouldn't reveal that fact!). I think "InoUnoIno" is about our awareness of the environmental damage we do, in spite of our complete lack of taking personal responsibility for the results. Mmmmm...preachy.
Song #14: "Say, Do You, Too?"
-
November 22, 2007
Found this ditty recently. We might have even played this song live a few times...
Lucky #13
-
November 15, 2007
I just found this old demo for a song called "The One Thing" buried deep inside my hard drive. Enjoy :)
Song #12: Song Evolution (part deux)
-
November 8, 2007
Here's another version of "Luckiest Man Alive" - I think we were trying for a Dire Straits "Sultans Of Swing" vibe with the acoustic guitars...
Song #11: One That Didn't Make The Cut
-
October 31, 2007
We thought we'd cut "Luckiest Man Alive" and put in on REMEMBER, but ended up shelving it after trying a couple of different arrangements. Here's one of 'em.
Song #10: All I Want Is You (demo)
-
October 25, 2007
Here's one we hope to complete for the next record. "All I Want Is You" has become a regular live fixture for us already and we kinda like it!
Song 9 (a new demo)
-
October 18, 2007
I recently wrote "Me and You" to my wife, after a few days of feeling overwhelmed...
Song #8
-
October 11, 2007
I think I wrote "One More Life" (find it on the MUSIC page under 'Other') after Remember was released, but I don't think it ever made the short list for Life Is Good. It sounds like I played all the instruments but Jeff's leads...
Song #7: Lucky Nostalgia
-
October 4, 2007
I was lucky to discover this little gem: a late Todd Hunter and the Tourists demo version of "Snow Upon The Ground". It is definitely lo-fi (especially the vocal - yikes!), but it is still interesting to hear how much shuffle the song had originally, and how we used to end the song...
Song #6
-
September 27, 2007
"Perfect Kid" was on the Somebody Needs A Timeout compilation (which also featured songs by Moneen, Duotang, Nathan, Paper Moon, The Waking Eyes, Hayden, Novillero, Propagandhi, my good friend Greg Macpherson, and many more great acts). The song still amuses - which was the whole point!
Song #5: One For Our Next Album!
-
September 20, 2007
"Here Where You Belong" is one we hope to put on our next album - listen to an early version of it on the MUSIC page.
Song #4: From The Vault
-
September 13, 2007
"Say Hello" is a song that encourages people to be kind to each other. I wrote it a number of years ago for a kids compilation album...
Song #3: A Co-Write!
-
September 6, 2007
I wrote "Tonight" with uber songwriter Ray Martin then demo'd it quickly by playing all the instruments (badly) myself. Ray and I are not totally happy with the beginning of each verse, so we plan to get back together and see if we can make 'em better. I'd be happy to hear any of your suggestions...
Week #2
-
August 30, 2007
Here's my humble second offering: the song I wrote and sang at my sister's wedding. It's called "A Day Like This" and I like this recording (especially now that Jeff remixed it). Go to the top of the MUSIC page to hear it, and don't hesitate to tell me what you think!
Here's My 1st New Song
-
August 24, 2007
It's called "Come On Denise". I played all the instruments (badly) and sang it once through to make this fun little demo for you! It should be at the top of the MUSIC page...
Now We're Talking!

August 12, 2007
After many website designs and re-designs I finally figured out what I wanted a website for: to connect with YOU, the FAN! The music my band and I make is for you, so why not participate? Give us advice, tell me what you like/dislike about new song ideas, etc. In turn, I'll try to give you something new to listen to EVERY WEEK!!!
